The Scottish Highlands have a special place among the photographers' dream locations in Europe. The unique combination of vast landscapes, myths and legends that date back to the dawn of European civilisation, ever changing weather and light conditions, and one of the lowest population densities in Europe offer unique opportunities for the adventurous photographer. So far, I have visited Scotland three times: In 2013, I trekked across the Hebridean Isle of Skye, in 2015 I hiked along the West Highland Way, and in 2016 I did an overnight expedition to Loch Coruisk in the heart of the Cuillin mountains. Each time I came back with unforgettable impressions, some of which I want to share with you below.
