Videography

Apart from photography, I increasingly enjoy shooting video. I not only appreciate the new opportunities that the time dimension adds to photographic composition and expression. I also enjoy the novel aerial perspectives now becoming accessible thanks to compact multicopters. As I take my first steps in videography, on this page I present some initial results.

Alpenpanoramaweg

Some impressions from the summit of Stöcklichrüz near Lake Zurich. The video was shot on an early spring hike along the Alpenpanoramaweg from Lachen to Einsiedeln. Shot with a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone.

Braunwald Panorama Trail

The following video was shot with a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone while hiking along the Panorama Trail in Braunwald, Glarus in the Swiss Alps. We did this trail on a marvelous sunny day in late autumn.

Alpstein and Säntis

The Alpstein mountain massif is one of my favorite areas in Switzerland. On a sunny day in September, we did the challenging mountain hike from Ebenalp to the summit of Säntis, a mountain with a height of 2501 meters. The following video was short from the first part of the trail, close to Ebenalp. Shot with a Mavic 2 Pro drone.

Bettmeralp and Aletsch Glacier

In winter 2018 we spent a few days in the area around Aletsch, Switzerland's largest glacier. On a hike along a winter hiking trail, I shot this video using a Nikon D750 with Atomos Ninja Flame and a DJI Mavic Pro drone.

Stauberen and Alpstein

This short video gives some impressions from a two-day hike in the Alpstein massif. Shot with a DJI Mavic Pro drone and a Nikon D750 with Ninja Flame recorder and Syrp Genie timelapse controller.

Seealpsee

One of Switzerland's most beautiful mountain lakes lies at the foot of Säntis mountain in the Alpstein massif. In summer, it is the perfect place for wild swimming. The following video was shot during a mountain hike from Wasserauen, Appenzell via Seealpsee to Aescher mountain inn. Shot with a DJI Mavic Pro drone.
