Lofoten

High up on the Artic Circle, the Lofoten archipelago is a natural gem at Norway's western coast. Probably referring to the islands' peculiarly shaped coastline, the Old Norse name Lófót translates to lynx's foot. The combination of rugged mountains, spectacular seascapes, and unique light conditions with midnight sun in summer and polar light in winter turns Lofoten into one of the world's dream locations for landscape photography - a place of such overwhelming beauty that it is hard to believe and even harder to forget.
